Standard Motor Products Expands Advanced ICE Component Portfolio

The expansion centers on the company’s GDI program, which now exceeds 120 SKUs. Recent additions provide coverage for late-model European imports, including BMW X3 and X5 models, as well as Audi A4 and Volkswagen Atlas units. Beyond fuel delivery, the firm has bolstered its turbocharger support with over 100 new, no-core kits, incorporating critical peripheral components like coolant and oil lines for Ford Transit and F-150 platforms.

Technological shifts in engine design have necessitated the integration of electric vacuum pumps and vapor canister systems, as modern engines often struggle to generate sufficient natural vacuum. Standard now offers nearly 100 precision-engineered vacuum pumps, including 12 electric variants designed specifically for stop-start vehicle technology. This lineup covers approximately 3.2 million Jeep and RAM vehicles through 2025 and 2.5 million Ford trucks through 2026.

John Herc, Vice President of Vehicle Control Marketing at SMP, noted that these product introductions reflect a strategic focus on high-technology components to ensure distribution partners maintain access to late-model coverage. The current portfolio also includes expanded offerings in variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation solenoids, all of which are now accessible through the company’s digital catalog.
