FirstLight Taps VETRO to Modernize Fiber Network Management
FirstLight Networks has transitioned its entire 25,000-mile fiber infrastructure to VETRO’s cloud-native platform, aiming to replace legacy systems with a unified, map-based system of record. The migration, completed in just ten weeks, is designed to sharpen asset visibility and accelerate the deployment of high-speed services across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
Mike Constantino, Chief Operating Officer at FirstLight, noted that the implementation speed—roughly two and a half months—was significantly faster than the industry standard of six to twelve months for migrations of this magnitude. This efficiency allows the company to handle repairs more effectively while scaling its fiber network to meet demand from wireless carriers, healthcare systems, and financial institutions. Will Mitchell, CEO of VETRO, credited the project's success to a clean data migration strategy that positions FirstLight to manage its complex infrastructure with greater agility.
