The project serves as a component of a larger, multimillion-dollar initiative by the utility provider to replace aging components that have exceeded their expected service life. According to Jessica Taylor, Southern California Director of Operations, the upgrades are designed to mitigate corrosion-related damage and ensure long-term stability for customers in the area.
California American Water Upgrades Coronado Utility Infrastructure
A $675,000 infrastructure overhaul on Spinnaker Way in Coronado has concluded, aimed at bolstering water system reliability and public safety. California American Water replaced roughly 30 service lines and seven gate valves, while adding a new fire hydrant to increase flow capacity for the local district.

By focusing on these specific assets, the company intends to support consistent water delivery and enhance fire protection capabilities. Such investments remain a core priority for the utility as it manages water delivery for approximately 720,000 people across its California service territory.
