The Yangjae R&D Campus facility, spanning 10,000 square meters, acts as a high-tech training ground where LG CLOiD robots simulate tasks ranging from home cleaning to complex assembly work modeled on the company’s Tennessee washing machine plant. By the end of this year, LG expects the center to house several hundred robots, generating 100,000 hours of training data—the equivalent of 12 years of operational experience. This data will be synthesized through NVIDIA’s Omniverse libraries and Cosmos open world models to refine LG’s Robot Foundation Model.
LG and NVIDIA Fast-Track Robotics with Seoul Data Factory
Just four days after signing a strategic partnership in California, senior executives from LG Electronics and NVIDIA met at LG’s emerging Data Factory in Seoul. The visit marks an aggressive push to integrate LG’s decades of manufacturing data with NVIDIA’s robotics stack to accelerate the development of physical AI.

This initiative anchors LG’s broader 2026 robotics strategy, which includes the recent formation of a dedicated Robotics Business Center reporting directly to the CEO. By combining hardware expertise in actuators and components with a sophisticated digital 'data flywheel,' LG aims to transition from a niche industrial player to a comprehensive provider of commercial and home robotics. Lyu Jae-cheol, CEO of LG Electronics, stated that this synergy is critical for securing a leading position in the burgeoning physical AI market.
