This transition allows Cherokee Cablevision to leverage its existing internal wiring to deliver high-quality video without forcing a complete migration to app-based streaming. Lester Brackett, CTO of BalsamWest FiberNet and Cherokee Cablevision, noted that the platform’s ease of integration was a deciding factor in the selection, providing a reliable way to manage video delivery across disparate properties from a central location.

By deploying the Luminato X32 Edge QAM platform, North Carolina-based Cherokee Cablevision is bridging the gap between modern fiber networks and legacy coaxial infrastructure. The move allows the operator to maintain linear television services for multi-dwelling units while simplifying remote network management and reducing on-site maintenance requirements.
The Luminato X32 features a fanless, compact design suitable for both wall and rack mounting, which aligns with the operational needs of building-level deployments. According to Teleste Senior Vice President Steve Condra, this approach underscores a broader industry trend where broadcast services continue to coexist alongside broadband and fiber upgrades. By keeping television services practical at the local level, operators can provide flexible service packages without abandoning established coaxial infrastructure.
