AAPA Sets Nationwide Agenda for PA Week 2026
From October 6 through 12, the American Academy of Physician Associates will host a series of nationwide events aimed at showcasing the impact of the profession, fostering community networking, and securing scholarship funding to lower financial hurdles for the next generation of healthcare clinicians.
David J. Bunnell, president and chair of the AAPA Board of Directors, emphasized that the week serves to bridge the gap between current practitioners and those entering the field. The Physician Associate Foundation is concurrently running a fundraising campaign to bolster student scholarships. These efforts arrive as the profession continues to see rapid growth, currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the second-best healthcare job in the nation. The week officially begins on October 6, marking the anniversary of the inaugural graduating class from Duke University in 1967.
