Suja Life entered the public market in May 2026, raising $173 million by pricing 8.9 million shares at $21.00 each. In its registration documents, the company touted a resilient business model and an ability to scale responsibly. However, the narrative shifted abruptly on August 4, 2026, when the firm reported a 21% sequential drop in sales and a 7.5% decline in gross profit margins.
The disclosure prompted a 46% single-day stock collapse on August 5, as management admitted that their grocery sales channel was under severe pressure. This forced the company to slash its full-year revenue guidance and rely on aggressive promotional discounting to move inventory. Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the probe, is now questioning whether Suja was sufficiently transparent about its vulnerability to market cycles.
