The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono’s Weekly Shonen Jump hit Kagurabachi has tapped veteran voice actor Yuichi Nakamura to portray the Kamunabi sorcerer Soshiro Azami. The announcement, accompanied by a character visual and specialized trailer, marks a significant milestone for the series ahead of its April 2027 premiere.
The production, helmed by animation studio Cypic, brings together a high-profile creative team including director Tetsuya Takeuchi and character designer Keigo Sasaki. With the original manga already boasting over 4.5 million copies in circulation, the project is positioned as a flagship title. Taihi Kimura, recipient of the 2025 Seiyu Award for Best New Actor, stars as the protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira, a young man navigating a dark path of revenge using his father’s enchanted blades. The series is scheduled to begin its global broadcast and streaming run in April 2027.
