The 13th annual competition, hosted at the Dallas Gun Club and the Extreme Tactical Gun Club, paired civilians with operators from the Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, and Air Force Combat Controllers. The funds provide a critical lifeline for the Special Forces Trust, which funds the Beyond the Battlefield initiative. This program offers anonymous mental health therapy, operational stress management, and suicide prevention resources for soldiers navigating the long-term psychological impacts of their service.
Great Americans Shoot Raises $2.4 Million for Special Forces Families
Twenty-five teams joined elite Special Operations warriors in North Texas this month, raising $2.4 million to bolster mental health and family support services for Green Berets. The three-day event, held from October 2 to 4, bridged the gap between civilian supporters and the nation’s most specialized military units.

Beyond individual care, the trust utilizes these donations to fund THRIVE and STRIVE programs, which address the unique domestic challenges faced by military spouses and children. Founded by Mike Reynolds, the event has generated roughly $20 million since its inception. Following this success, the organization plans to host the Hope & Purpose Masquerade Ball on October 22 at the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington to further support its mission.
