The analysis focused on circulating proteins and gene expression in 274 study participants. Researchers observed that patients receiving the combination therapy showed significant shifts in inflammatory pathways as early as Week 12. By Week 36, the combination arm exhibited a wider response, involving 482 differentially expressed proteins and 467 genes, compared to 140 proteins and 16 genes in the Taltz-only group.
Lilly data links psoriasis and obesity treatment to metabolic shift
New clinical findings from the TOGETHER-PsO trial reveal that combining Taltz and Zepbound triggers broader biomarker changes in adults with psoriasis and obesity compared to Taltz monotherapy. Presented at the 2026 Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference, the data suggest a potential biological intersection between immune and metabolic health.

These molecular changes correlate with clinical outcomes reported earlier, where the dual-treatment approach resulted in superior skin clearance and weight reduction. According to Mark Genovese, senior vice president of Lilly Immunology development, the findings support moving toward a more comprehensive care model for the estimated 61% of U.S. psoriasis patients who also live with obesity. James G. Krueger of The Rockefeller University noted that the reduction in neutrophil-associated markers provides evidence that addressing metabolic factors can influence psoriasis-related inflammatory activity.
