Dr. Delaney arrives at the organization from Children’s National in Washington, D.C., where she serves as Associate Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Transfusion Medicine. Her background includes a professorship at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a seat on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies. She takes the helm of a network that now spans 16 states and provides over one million blood products annually to nearly 550 hospitals.

Dr. Hillyer, who has led the institution since 2009, will transition into the role of Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees. His tenure was marked by the transformation of the center into a diversified life sciences enterprise, including the establishment of the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute’s advanced genomics work and the founding of a $50 million investment fund, NYBC Ventures. Board Chairman Marc Kramer noted that the transition is designed to maintain institutional continuity while positioning the organization for its next phase of clinical and scientific growth.
