The module measures 1,762 by 1,134 by 30 millimeters and achieves 24.5% efficiency. By reaching a 490 W output, the unit provides approximately 30 W more capacity than standard modules of similar size. According to company testing, this performance advantage extends to energy generation; the TNC module recorded 447.56 equivalent full-load hours in Yancheng, compared to 433.27 hours for copper-plated back-contact (BC) modules. This gap widens during low-light hours, where the module maintains higher output due to lower leakage current.
Tongwei Debuts 490W Residential Solar Module
With residential roof space often at a premium, Tongwei Solar is targeting efficiency gains with its new TNC 2.0 FULLX G12R-48 module. The 48-cell unit packs 490 watts of power into a compact frame, aiming to outperform conventional TOPCon and copper-plated back-contact alternatives in low-light and early-morning conditions.

Beyond raw power, the TNC 2.0 FULLX G12R-48 is designed for aesthetic and environmental adaptability. Available in Full Black and Black Frame configurations, it utilizes a zero-cell-gap layout to maintain a uniform look. The dual-glass construction is engineered to mitigate power losses caused by dust and shading, ensuring consistent output even when roof orientation or environmental conditions are suboptimal. Zander Yuan, Director of Product & Technology at Tongwei Solar, noted that the module is intended to maximize energy density for homeowners, potentially lowering total system costs by achieving higher output with fewer panels.
