Starting June 17, Build-A-Bear Workshop is ditching predictable seasonal sales in favor of a rolling series of surprise, one-day-only promotions. The retailer, which operates over 650 locations globally, intends to keep customers guessing by revealing each discount on social media only days before it goes into effect.

The campaign launches with a "Feeling the Squeeze" event, offering select Make-Your-Own furry friends for $15. This introductory deal applies to participating locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, as well as the company’s website. Chief Brand Officer Kim Utlaut noted that the strategy aims to heighten anticipation, framing the act of deal-hunting as an interactive element of the brand experience rather than a static retail event.

Following the June 17 kickoff, the company plans to cycle through additional limited-time offers throughout July. Customers are directed to monitor the brand’s TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook channels to track the reveals. While the specific nature of future discounts remains unannounced, the company is leveraging the popularity of mystery-box trends, hoping to boost engagement for its Bonus Club loyalty program while maintaining momentum after a fiscal year that saw $529.8 million in total revenue.
