Mission North Taps Danny Maiello for New Chief Corporate Affairs Role

As artificial intelligence and shifting regulatory environments rewrite the rules of corporate reputation, Mission North has appointed Danny Maiello as its inaugural chief corporate affairs officer. Reporting to co-CEO Bill Bourdon, Maiello will oversee an expanded advisory practice designed to help clients navigate increasingly complex stakeholder and policy landscapes.

The appointment marks a strategic pivot for the San Francisco-based agency, which has spent the last five years scaling its corporate advisory services. Mission North’s expansion aims to integrate reputation management with policy advocacy and executive positioning, addressing the reality that corporate trust is now dictated as much by internal decision-making as by external messaging. Maiello brings a multidisciplinary background to the role, having previously held senior leadership positions at FleishmanHillard, PwC, and Dentsu Creative, following a decade-long tenure at CNN.

"Trust is the top currency for value creation," Bourdon stated, noting that the forces shaping corporate standing are becoming more interconnected. For Maiello, the challenge lies in guiding companies through heightened scrutiny in sectors like technology and healthcare. By centralizing services—ranging from issues management to federal stakeholder engagement—the agency intends to support brands such as Canva, Snowflake, and Zoom as they adapt to a volatile geopolitical and economic climate. This leadership addition signals a push to treat corporate affairs not as a reactive function, but as a core component of market growth.
