Under the terms of the agreement, Renault has acquired the 45% stake previously held by Volvo Group and the 10% share belonging to shipping giant CMA-CGM. Despite surrendering its equity, Volvo Group will maintain its footprint in the venture through its Renault Trucks division. The company confirmed it will handle the distribution of vehicles developed by Flexis starting in 2027.
Renault Consolidates Control Over Electric Van Venture Flexis
After securing regulatory clearance, Renault Group has finalized a deal to absorb the stakes of its partners in Flexis S.A.S., effectively taking full control of the electric vehicle project. The move ends the joint ownership structure while keeping Volvo Group involved as a key distribution partner for upcoming models.

For Volvo, the transaction marks a clean exit from the ownership group with no material impact on the company’s earnings. The restructuring simplifies the business model for Flexis, which focuses on developing next-generation electric vans. While Renault now holds sole ownership of the entity, the operational synergy between the firms remains intact through the new distribution arrangement.
