RIFM Webinar to Address Human Relevance in Reproductive Toxicology

The session, titled "From High-Dose Studies to Human Relevance: Understanding Fragrance Safety," runs from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM EDT. It aims to clarify the distinctions between dose, exposure, hazard, and risk, offering a structured approach for interpreting complex toxicity data. Principal scientists Kaushal Joshi and Yax Thakkar will be joined by Aldert H. Piersma, an emeritus professor from Utrecht University, to dissect how toxicologists convert raw experimental data into meaningful safety conclusions.

A central focus of the discussion is the debut of RIFM’s Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity Data Summary. This new tool serves as a cornerstone for the institute’s weight-of-evidence framework, which integrates hazard identification with mechanistic insights to ensure assessments reflect real-world exposure scenarios.
