Bhargava joins the Los Angeles institution following her tenure as associate vice president for planning, real estate, and facilities at Northeastern University’s Oakland campus. In that role, she managed operations, sustainability, and capital programs across a 135-acre site comprising 67 buildings. Her career also includes high-level leadership positions at Google and the University of California system, where she focused on large-scale infrastructure and seismic resilience.

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Kiralla noted that the appointment arrives as the university refines its vision for future campus development. He emphasized that the role requires more than technical expertise in capital projects, highlighting the importance of fostering organizational trust and partnership. For her part, Bhargava pointed to the shifting landscape of higher education as a primary driver for her interest in the position, noting that her focus remains on designing environments tailored to support student and faculty success.
