The event responds to a structural shift in the Chinese market, where enterprises are increasingly moving beyond experimental AI to prioritize scalable, reliable model workflows. By aligning Kubernetes orchestration with OpenStack virtualization and PyTorch training frameworks, organizers seek to provide a unified stack that supports the entire lifecycle of modern AI applications.
Open Source Giants Converge in Shanghai to Standardize AI Infrastructure
For the first time, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, OpenInfra Foundation, and PyTorch Foundation are uniting their global communities under one roof. The co-located conference, scheduled for September 7–9, 2026, at the Shanghai International Convention Center, aims to bridge the gap between foundational cloud architecture and production-grade artificial intelligence.

Technical sessions will focus on the practical realities of scaling agentic AI and managing heterogeneous hardware environments. Key industry speakers, including representatives from Ant Group and China Merchants Bank, are set to present case studies on GPU virtualization and the deployment of AI agents in high-stakes production settings. Beyond the core conference, the gathering will also host summits dedicated to agentic protocols and the evolution of Open Source Program Offices, reflecting a broader effort to standardize governance and infrastructure for the next generation of software development.
