Covington-based Gilsbar is pivoting its market strategy to capture the broker sector, launching a dedicated Sub Production Division to offer specialized liability coverage. The initiative targets law firms and professional businesses, marking a departure from the firm’s historical focus on direct-to-market operations and internal infrastructure.

Vanessa Phillips returns to the company to lead the initiative as the head of the division. With over two decades of insurance experience, she is tasked with driving growth and managing broker relationships. Phillips, who began her career at Gilsbar, will oversee the delivery of high-value service to partners as the firm transitions into this new business model.
