CPSC Issues Sweeping Recalls for Dangerous Consumer Goods

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has flagged a diverse range of hazardous products, from children’s toys and sleepwear to industrial-grade air conditioners and e-bikes. These recalls, spanning over 59,000 units, target items ranging from fire-prone waxing kits to magnet-heavy Montessori boards that pose lethal ingestion risks to toddlers.

The agency’s latest enforcement action includes an expanded recall for 14,700 Southern Telecom Lomi waxing kits following reports of power cords overheating. Alongside these, 13,514 Amana air conditioners and heat pumps manufactured by Daikin Comfort Technologies were pulled due to melting components. Other major recalls involve 13,400 Honlyne LED party favors and 8,420 MedPride baby oil bottles, both failing to meet mandatory child-safety standards for batteries and packaging.

Safety warnings also highlight critical mechanical failures. The CPSC has issued an immediate stop-use order for Ridstar E-Bikes after 32 reports of front wheels detaching, which resulted in 31 injuries including concussions and broken bones. Similarly, 237 Vomiliku crib mattresses are under scrutiny for fire hazards, while 200 Yamazuki youth ATVs were recalled for failing to meet federal crash-safety mandates. The agency reminds retailers that federal law strictly prohibits the sale of any product subject to these commission-ordered or voluntary recalls.
