Regional Vice President Katia Medina led the celebration, which recognized three standout firms: Hernán Bedoya’s SOS Diesel Mechanical Services, 2M Graphics, owned by Marivict and Mario Silva, and Elvis Torres’s Optimal Point Solutions. The evening served as both a milestone for the nonprofit and a platform for civic dialogue, featuring insights from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. Demings received special recognition for his eight-year tenure and consistent advocacy for Prospera’s mission.
Prospera Marks 35 Years of Supporting Central Florida Entrepreneurs
At the Orlando Science Center, community leaders gathered to mark Prospera’s 35th anniversary, an organization that has become a cornerstone for Hispanic business development. The event highlighted the resilience of local small business owners while honoring the public and private partnerships that fuel regional economic growth.

A panel discussion moderated by Truist’s Elisha Gonzalez examined the complex economic and social climate currently shaping small business operations. Participants, including Orange County Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero and Hispanic Federation state director Laudi Campo, analyzed strategies for sustained collaboration. Prospera, which has facilitated $56.8 million in loans over the past five years, continues to emphasize its role in bilingual consulting and job retention across Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. OUC served as the event's presenting sponsor, joined by a broad coalition of corporate partners including Duke Energy, Verizon, and Bank of America.
