Genyk will collaborate with existing leadership to identify and develop new business opportunities across CapStone’s growing sports portfolio. According to Ashley Beal, CapStone’s chief of staff, Genyk’s unique blend of athletic management and private sector experience makes him the right choice to advance the firm’s strategy in team investments and fan engagement platforms.
Jeff Genyk Appointed Head of Sports Ventures at CapStone Holdings
After a career spanning collegiate coaching at Northwestern and Eastern Michigan and a stint as an ESPN analyst, Jeff Genyk is transitioning into the corporate sector. CapStone Holdings has tapped the former coach to lead its sports ventures, aiming to leverage his background to scale GameAbove Sports and 21X SPORTS.

His appointment arrives as CapStone intensifies its focus on the sports industry. The firm’s subsidiary, 21X, recently launched the 21X SPORTS vertical, designed to help organizations extract incremental revenue from existing fan bases through AI-driven engagement. This initiative aligns with GameAbove Sports’ broader mission of managing franchises, youth development, and strategic events. Genyk, who holds an MBA from Western Michigan University, will oversee these efforts as the firm seeks to integrate its technological infrastructure with its sports-focused investments.
